Western Washington University offers an accredited Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) program designed to train skilled, entry-level audiologists and support students interested in pursuing PhD studies. This full-time, four-year program begins with two years of coursework combined with hands-on clinical training at Western’s community clinic, providing experience in pediatric and adult hearing evaluations, balance assessments, hearing aid fittings and management, and aural rehabilitation/habilitation. The third year is divided evenly between coursework and clinical internships at sites throughout western Washington. The program concludes with a full-time externship during the fourth year at a clinical site selected by the student. All clinical supervisors—including those at the university clinic, internships, and externships—hold ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
The program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of ASHA.INFO TAKEN FROM WESTERN'S OFFICIAL WEBSITE | LAST UPDATED: MARCH 2025
